OAKLAND

These are my stories (ba-bum)

Tiny Dye House

This is dreamland: A mushroom tie-dye tee shirt or bed sheets that mimic the color of a brown cow. Maybe hot cocoa, salty seaweed, dirt, some reused pottery clay - spots of bright pink prickly pear and hyacinth. A pillow made homage to the charged cempaxochitls from our barn’s altar post dia de los muertos - I might add old carrots. I research some scientific articles for a bit of structured guidance. I read some stories for a bit of spiritual guidance and cultural acknowledgement. one of a kind.

Flower Power Seedbrary

I support seed sovereignty and seed stewardship. I am in the process of collecting, saving, and disseminating open-pollinated locally-adapted wildflower, heirloom, herb, and vegetable seeds for conscious public consumption. For more information and seed-donations, please email me at graceharrisj@gmail.com.

Flower Farming

I am on my first year of organically growing native wildflowers, dye flowers, and rare varieties. More to come on this front.

Ethos

I support the rediscovery of the stories and cultures behind our plants and flowers through a decolonized lens.
